A SPARKLE for the future
Sparkle project – Sustainable Precision Agriculture: Research and Knowledge for Learning how to be an agri-Entrepreneur – has started!
Sparkle is an Erasmus+ project and a KA2 – Knowledge Alliance that will tackle the future of the agriculture sector from various points of view, and in relation to entrepreneurship, thus closely connected to beFORE activities and scope.
The kick-off meeting took place on the 12th and 13th February in Florence and the first WP work is ongoing.
The partnership is composed by:
- 4 Universities (University of Florence (IT), Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (ES), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (GR), Universidade de Evora (PT));
- 4 companies providing advanced services (CSIC – research center on mechanization and robotics (SP); AgroSAP – Precision Agriculture consultancy (SP); ErreQuadro – technology foresight (IT); Valuedo – entrepreneurial education (IT))
- 3 farms adopting Precision Agriculture technologies (Quinta de Cholda (PT) – Arable crops sector; Rezos Brands (GR) – Superfood; Mazzei 1435 (IT) – Viticulture).
The main objective of the project is the creation of a bridge between Universities, farmers and students in order to be able to supply high-level education on Precision Agriculture topics and, at the same time, to transfer to Universities a greater awareness of the stakeholders’ needs.
In particular, Erre Quadro, one of the partners of the beFORE Consortium, will perform a foresight analysis in order to discover the main technologies in Precision Agriculture and their trends; this way, the partnership could be aware of the technologies of the future and education courses could be designed taking the various scenarios into account.
