“The challenge is not that we must find ways to “know” the future,
rather we need to find ways to live and act with not knowing the future.”
(R. Miller, 2011)In this section you will find the most relevant outputs of the beFORE project from its start in January 2017. We hope you find them interesting and helpful in your journey towards becoming a future oriented professional or entrepreneur!
Type of contents you will find below: beFORE Publications, Dissemination reports and other beFORE promotional materials, Case studies, Educational Offer Information and other Relevant Publications.
beFORE Publications. Main results of the different activities carried out in the project are presented here; from the identification of the competences linked to a future oriented individual (“The Quest for the Competences of a Future-Oriented Individual”), to the analysis of needs identified by academics, students and entrepreneurs in relation to these competences when managing future oriented tasks (“Future-Oriented Individuals: Lessons Learned from a Competence Survey”).
Dissemination reports and other beFORE promotional materials. These materials give an overview of the dissemination activities carried out through the whole project; workshops organized, articles and news published… Additionally, you will be able to print the beFORE leaflet, calendar and poster from here.
Case Studies. A case studies database of best business foresight practices from several sectors has been created as part of the 1st work package of the project (“State of the Art”). Each case study identifies the scope of the foresight practices and the core foresight and innovation/entrepreneurship competences in relation to knowledge, skills and social competences that a future-oriented manager should possess. These cases are distributed according to the size of the business (small/large).
Educational offer. This subsection presents the best education practices (educational offer) available currently at global level, as part of the 1st work package of the project (“State of the Art”). Each education practice/offer identifies the basic facts about the practice (country, field and type of study…), along with the core foresight and innovation/entrepreneurship competences in relation to knowledge, skills and social competences that a future-oriented manager should possess. These best practices are divided according to the type of educational offer: Bachelor, Course, Master, PhD, Postgraduate, Training.
Other relevant publications. This subsection includes individual analyses of the most relevant publications resultant from the cross-literature review carried out in the field of foresight and entrepreneurship as part of the 1st work package of the project (“State of the Art”). Different types of publications have been included; key books in the field and other printed works on foresight and entrepreneurship (popular-scientific studies), as well as peer review articles coming from leading journals. Each individual analysis includes basic facts about the publication (authors, year of publication, keyworkds…) identifying at the same time the core foresight and innovation/entrepreneurship competences in relation to knowledge, skills and social competences that a future-oriented manager should possess and the existing convergences among futures studies, entrepreneurship and innovation.
